Swiss Cultural Society of Calgary

We are a highly dynamic not-for-profit organization consisting of various Swiss Clubs and Groups, hosting a large variety of Cultural Activities and highly engaging Events throughout the year. These include our popular Swiss National Day celebrated every August 1st, as well as many Folklore events, Jass Card events and tournaments. Be sure to also join us for the highly popular Fondue and Raclette Dance evenings, as well as a delicious hands-on Swiss Cuisine evening where we maintain our culinary heritage and pass along such culinary wisdom to our younger generations. Being geographically set a short drive from the Canadian Rockies, means we also get to enjoy some of the best Hikes and Camping in the world through our Outdoor Group.

From time-to-time, Members also receive access to interesting and engaging keynote presentations from influential Swiss visiting or living right here within our community; Providing us with great knowledge, sharing their insights on a global scale or allowing us to learn more from a certain profession or career — inspiring both young and young at heart. Such as an inspiring presentation from Swiss National Skeleton Team Athletes, training right here at our Calgary Olympic facilities. Truly, Events and Activities for Young and Young at Heart!

You will all find the Swiss Cultural Society of Calgary within the City of Calgary Community participating in stewardship programs such as the Annual City of Calgary Pathway & River Clean-up, or down on the McMahon Stadium field proudly waving our flag at the Calgary Stampeders Multicultural event or, at our newest participation, on the ice at the Scotia Bank Saddledome for the Calgary Hitmen’s Multicultural Flag Ceremony. And do not miss the opportunity to catch our Swiss film contributions each year at the annual Calgary European Film Festival.
